Harvey Danger's new album: DRM-free torrent!

Harvey Danger, one of my fave bands, is grabbing this internet-thing by the horns and releasing their latest album as a DRM-Free torrent. Now you have no excuse to give it a listen, and, if you like it, buy it, and check em out in concert. via [boing boing]

The Road Home

I should've linked this sooner, but the Houston Chronicle has a blog for evacuees from Rita looking to get back to Houston. It provides reader anecdotes and articles about gas availability, road conditions, and lane closures throughout the Gulf Coast area. I arrived about 3am last night after a long time on the road from Alabama. Thanks to my sister-in-law and her husband for putting us up for the last several days.

We decided to come into Houston from I-20 to Marshall and take I-59 South to Cleveland and cut across 105 to Conroe and I-45 South. We ended up hitting very little traffic. It looked like Cleveland and Conroe had limited power since most of the traffic lights weren't working and the street lights weren't lit. It was a little eery with all the trees down on the sides of the road and the pitch black of the buildings. But there was plenty of gas (regular unleaded only) at the gas station in Nacogdoches, and no complications. I hope everyone coming back to H-Town and the surrounding areas has as much luck as we did.

Hurricane Rita

For all my loyal readers, you need not worry about me, I have retired to my "summer home" (sister-in-law's place) in scenic, Hamilton, AL. I shall return on Monday or Tuesday as time (and natural disasters) permit. Hope everyone else is safe and doing well.

FXFC HFSC Activity

Interesting post on the FX corner of F*ckedCompany a few weeks ago after a long period of silence:

Today I overheard a TS noob talking about a fax from the COB to the CEO he saw over by the company fax machine. Sure enough, the damn thing was lying around in plain site, and it said pretty clearly that the company's going to be sold off for parts any day now.

Could it be true? Is FX finally going on to the chopping block after all this time? Anyone want to bid on The Statue for me as a birthday gift?
